Waiting for MacArthur

The Story: A two-act play
An Army nurse trapped on the Philippine Island of Corregidor during World War II ponders her past and present life through a series of letters to her mother, close friend and former high school teacher. As each day passes, and the Japanese military bombardment continues, she courageously continues her work knowing that each day may be her last.
The Cast: Four Women
Annie Lou: A 22 year old nurse
Rosalie: A 21 year old best friend; immature, naive and sweet
Mama: 50-65 years old, of Prussian ancestry. She is a second-generation American
Margaret: 35-50 years old. Unmarried and unhappy teaching high school English. Annie is Lou's confidant
Bring resume, monologues encouraged if available. If no monologue, actor will be given part of script to read. Open interested actresses of all ages. Registration begins 30 minutes before auditions.
Rehearsals will begin around September 11th, 2015. The cast and director will coordinate dates, times and places once the case has been selected.
Performances will be held at Park Avenue Community Center, 210 Park Avenue, Escondido, CA 92025

The American History Theater, Inc. is incorporated in the state of California and has been granted its Federal 501(c)(3), non-profit status. AHT is a member of the American Association of Community Theatre. As a non-profit, educational, community theater company, AHT does not pay salaries to its actors. It does provide a stipend to assist in gas and oil expenses to be paid on the last day of the production. The amount will be announced at auditions.
